The simple answer is you can't, legally anyways.
Tose days are gone. These companies are big giants and they have decided to stop it. Better switch over to Linux and you will find everything is free.
legal or illegal???

legal Norton 2007 here http://www.symantec.com/home_homeoffice/...

Legal OFFICE 2007 professional here

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/defaul...

or

for free stuff go to a torrent site!!!
You can go through the below link for trial version.

www.softpedia.com/get/Antiviru...

Or

can download from www.symantec.com/downloads
download.com
Now these are only free trials of the products. You can not download free versions of Norton's and Microsoft products.

Download the temporary free trials. No freebies on the internet. I forgot the bitorrents is free, but then I would not want to get caught in the web. Besides, if you are in India it is better than in the USA where it is easier to get sued.
You can purchase NAV 2007 from http://www.symantec.com/ and Microsoft Office 2007 from http://office.microsoft.com/
well if you bought a computer this year, norton antivirus come free but only for a trial period and then you can buy it at a half price and the same fof the microsoft office and then buy it

you can use torrents, thats the easiest way. i dont know why you dont want .rar's just use winRAR to open them....

Why is McAffe antivirus SO ******* annoying!?

It seems i constantly have boxes popping up. I'm in the middle of a game and it crashes! argg, anyone have any other good (possibly free?) antivirus programs?

Why is McAffe antivirus SO ******* annoying!?husqvarna

Because , it's Mcaffe.

A good , free anti virus is at download.com , a branch of cnet.com.

Look for AVG anti virus , and for AdAdware SE.

Both 2 great and free programs.

Why is McAffe antivirus SO ******* annoying!?microsoft office

use Trend Micro.excelent anti-virus and uses very little resources
AVG is much better and its free .

you can download it here.

http://www.grisoft.com/doc/products-avg-...

McAfee disabled my antivirus once the subscription period expired.?

Norton does not do this. I will never buy McAfee products again. Does anybody know where I can download free antivirus?? thank you..

McAfee disabled my antivirus once the subscription period expired.?internet security 2006

Norton will do this too..... new stuff stops working afer expiration. If you use roadrunner, they give you a free one. Lots of free ones out there. When I sold computers, lots of people use AVG which they loved - supposed to be free.

McAfee disabled my antivirus once the subscription period expired.?microsoft

Why are you mad at McAfee? Of course you won't get a product (ANY product) if you have stopped paying for it. Otherwise, my mailbox would be full overflowing with magazines.
yeah, norton does it, too.

get the freebies: windows defender, adaware, spybot.
www.avast.com Home version is free, auto updates, just need to renew yearly.

Which free anti-virus is better for PREVENTION: Avast or Antivir?

I have fairly tight security already. I use Comodo firewall which is highly rated. I'm already 100% virus %26 spyware free %26 to keep it that way I'm using Faronics Deep Freeze (which freezes my C: drive) %26 in case that is compromised I'm backed-up with Acronis True Image which can fully restore the C: drive within 20 minutes. What I'm more interested in a free antivirus... I repeat FREE!!!!!... don't suggest I pay money... is that it will give better PROTECTION from getting the virus in the first place, in order to protect my personal files on the other drives. With this software normally if I did get any virus the moment I reboot, hey presto.. gone! ;)

Now, without any doubt Antivir beats Avast hands down on scanning ability %26 on scanning AVG isn't even a contender. But on the free editions of these products Avast has more protection enabled by default, like on-line mail %26 P2P; so Im not sure whether Avast won't be better at protecting me from infection. Comments from techies pls ;)

Which free anti-virus is better for PREVENTION: Avast or Antivir?internet security software

It's refreshing to have somebody who realize that AVG is just a not very good antivirus scanner. Avast extra protection is just a marketing tool and it took more resources from your pc to run these. Avast also can really slow down your pc during the scans too. Avira already scan everything that came into contact with your pc so that will cover all the extras protection on Avast. In anycase your firewall should protect you from p2p and everything else. There's a free scanner from AOL that is very good, Active Shield, but the thing is that it uses an older scanning engine from Kaspersky (v6) so it's won't be effective at detecting new viruses. Since you already have a software firewall (i use ZoneAlarm Pro), a hardware firewall (Router), antivirus, Image Backup (i also use Acronis TI, too) and i hope that you also have a few antispywares apps runnning on your pc, you should be fine. Remember that NO Antivirus can catch 100% of all viruses. The best antivirus can only catch around 97%---and that's the paid version of Kaspersky. Of all the free antivirus, Avira is the best right now,IMHO, since i've already tried just about all of them at one time or another.

Is it necessary to purchase an antivirus program such as Norton or McAffee?

or is the pre-loaded antivirus program that your computer came with when you bought it enough? I run Windows XP home edition on an HP Pavilion 1010y (Pentium 4/ 3.06 ghz; 512mb ram). Also, what is the "catch" with free antivirus programs, and where do I find them?

Is it necessary to purchase an antivirus program such as Norton or McAffee?internet security

no not unless you enjoy parting with your money. plenty freebies available on the net just as good.

Is it necessary to purchase an antivirus program such as Norton or McAffee?network security

It is not neccesarry to buy those Anti-virus programs. There are alot of quality free anti-virus programs such as "AVG" - google it and check it out. And there is no catch on it ;) .

P.S. - There is a catch on your preloaded anti-virus like norton. The software is free, but you must pay to update the subscription , thats where they get you ;)
No catch with this free anti-virus. I have seen many... and this is by far the BEST anti-virus and the BEST FREE anti-virus around. I recommend and install on all of my customer's pcs:

http://www.avast.com

Free free... and excellent!
It's not necessary to purchase anti-virus software. Free anti-virus will work well. As for free anti-virus software, there is no catch in them. They simply provide free or personal edition, so you can use it freely.
No catch with the free av programs...checkout avast.com for one. The preloaded av program may be a trial version of Norton or McAfee.
Generally free programs are for a trial period then you have to pay. Or if it's something new on the market you might get a deal. It's best to have a program that is realiable and that will allow upgrades as new threats come out. You may save time and aggravation by spending a little more.
Pre-loaded ones will expire in 90 days.

The free ones work fine, and the only catch is to not use them for commercial use. The best is avast at www.avast.com. AVG is ok, but not in the same league as avast.

Avira or Avg antivirus?would anyone tell me?

would anyone tell something about which of these free antivirus is more powerful,I am really confused, thank you

Avira or Avg antivirus?would anyone tell me?internet

According to av-comparatives.org Avira score really high on the detection rate but detects a high level of false alarms.

http://www.avira.com/en/pages/index.php

AVG score pretty well, but since av-comparatives.org tested the AVG Anti-malware (antivirus and antspyware combine), I'm not exactly sure of the outcome for just the antivirus but if you have both AVG Antivirus and AVG Antispyware (both separate and free) you'll have a very solid protection.

http://www.grisoft.com/

Both AVG and Avira scored Advance+ on the last on-demand test but Avira scored only Standard while AVG scored Advance on the retrospective test because of the false alarms that Avira detected. If it wasn't for the false alarms, Avira would had defiantly scored Advance or higher.

For a simple easy antivirus, I would recommend AVG Antivirus Free, if you do get AVG Antivirus, get AVG Antispyware for more protection (again the antispyware is free as well).

If you want to try a more advance Antivirus with a stronger detection rate, try Avira.

Another free antivirus that you might consider is Avast! Antivirus Home Edition. It's free and also scored Advance on both On-Demand and retrospective test (not Advance+) but you'll have to register for a license key once a year (the key is free and you can re-register for antoher key for free too).
