You need to go to the start menu鈥?. "my computer" add/remove hardware and see if any programs have been added that you are not aware of.

On your browser Go to tools...... internet option...... delete cookies 鈥︹€?delete files and all offline content

The top three free antivirus are AVG, Avast, and Avira.

Avira consistently ranks the best of the three in detection rates, (but it doesn't scan email.)

Avast rates somewhat below Avira, but is very good.

AVG is the most popular because it never bothers you (it never bothers you because its detection rates are so poor that it rarely finds anything.)
